This is the preferred method of taking down the reaper due to its high damage output but is definitely the more nerve-wracking method since it requires the player to fight the reaper in person. Be sure to bring along a repair tool, as it is almost guaranteed that players will need to repair their prawn suit mid-fight. Once that’s done, enter the suit and find a reaper leviathan to fight. Add a few hull enforcement upgrades and affix a drill arm and a grapple arm to the prawn suit. Once the prawn suit is built, bring it to a base with a vehicle bay so it can be upgraded. Odds are good that the player may come across the drill arm and grappling arm upgrades, both of which are must-haves if players want to fight the reaper leviathan using this method. Try looking inside of wrecks located in the Dunes, Blood Kelp Trench, and Grand Reef area. Blueprints for arm attachments like the drill arm can only be found in wrecks scattered throughout the map. They tend to patrol areas around the Aurora, so be prepared to engage in some evasive maneuvers before boarding. The prawn suit blueprints can be found in Aurora’s vehicle bay, and it is while attempting to acquire said blueprints that players will likely encounter their first reaper leviathan. The materials required should be self-explanatory, but just know that both methods will require the player to obtain some blueprints before being put into action. The “Stasis Rifle and Blade” approach and the “Prawn Suit Drill” approach. Keep in mind that the reaper will likely attack said vehicle, so it is highly advised that players upgrade their vehicle to have defensive modules in place.įor the actual fight itself, there are two main methods. It will be incredibly useful if players want to quickly approach the reaper or run away from one. The fight itself will take also take a long time, so players either need to have extra oxygen tanks on their person or have ready access to a vehicle. It is also highly recommended to have a fully-charged seaglide for quick transport. Even if the player is wearing a reinforced dive suit, the damage received will be extensive. The reaper leviathan is likely going to land several attacks, and this will deal more than enough damage to kill the player several times over. ![]() For starters, stock up on first aid kits. ![]() ![]() Every blueprint can be scanned in Reaper-less biomes.Due to the player being at an obvious disadvantage, players need to do a decent amount of prep work before they actually try to start the fight. Other than the front entrance of the Aurora (which, contrary to popular belief, is usually Reaper-free), there is no reason to go into the biomes they typically inhabit. (This only works effectively if you're using a Seaglide - if you wandered into Reaper territory without one, you're fish food.)Īs the other answer mentioned, there are several other ways you can deal with them as well, but the overall best way is to simply stay away from them. Just like Sandsharks, they won't be able to turn fast enough to grab you. If you time it right, you can dodge their charge by turning sharply to the side before they hit you. However, despite their speed, they do have one limitation: they are not quite as mobile as you are. One of the biggest reasons they're so scary is because you can't outrun it with just a Seaglide - they move faster than you can. Reaper Leviathans are one of the the most dangerous threats in the game, and in my opinion it's the most terrifying (that roar gives me terror-chills just thinking about it).
